About the Journal

The Journal of Welding Science and Technology of Iran (JWSTI) is a specialized scientific journal in the fields of welding, materials engineering, and non-destructive testing. The journal is published by the Iranian Institute of Welding & Non-Destructive Testing.

The Journal aims to provide a scientific platform for researchers, academics, and professionals to exchange knowledge and disseminate scientific, technical, and specialized research in the fields covered by the Journal.

The Journal considers manuscripts that present novel and scientifically sound contributions. Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Papers previously presented at conferences may be considered provided that the submitted manuscript contains substantial additional material and meets the Journal's publication criteria.

Articles should be based on sound theoretical, experimental, technical, or applied research and may include, but are not limited to:

• New ideas, methods, findings, or interpretations resulting from the investigation of relevant scientific and technical topics.

• Research conducted in technical, industrial, and applied fields.

• Critical analysis, research, and interpretation of established scientific and technical knowledge.

Publication Charges and Plagiarism Check

All Original Research, Application, Short Case, and Case Study articles submitted to the Journal are published free of charge, and no article submission or publication fees are charged.

All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and textual similarity using iThenticate. A similarity score of less than 20% is considered acceptable by the Journal. However, the similarity score is not the sole criterion for determining plagiarism, and the editorial team may evaluate the nature and sources of the identified similarities.

Open Access and Licensing

The Journal is fully open access, meaning that all published articles are freely available online to all users upon publication. Articles published in the Journal are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) License. By submitting a manuscript for publication, authors agree to the terms of this license.

Repository Policy

Authors are permitted to deposit versions of their published work in institutional or other repositories, subject to the terms and conditions of the Journal's open-access and licensing policy.

Archiving and Preservation

The Journal's publications are archived through recognized digital preservation services to ensure long-term access to published content.

Peer Review Process

The Journal of Welding Science and Technology of Iran (JWSTI) follows a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the scientific quality and integrity of published articles.

• Manuscripts submitted simultaneously to more than one journal are not considered acceptable.

• Manuscripts outside the scope of the Journal will not be considered for peer review.

• Each manuscript is normally evaluated by at least two independent expert reviewers.

• The editors may seek additional reviews when necessary.

• Final publication decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief and/or the Editorial Board based on the reviewers' evaluations and the overall scientific quality of the manuscript.

• Authors of rejected manuscripts will be notified of the editorial decision.

All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents, and editors and reviewers are expected to maintain strict confidentiality throughout the peer-review process.

Editors and reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest arising from direct or indirect relationships with the authors. Individuals with conflicts that could compromise the objectivity of the evaluation should withdraw from the review process.

Confidential information, unpublished data, or ideas obtained during peer review must not be used for personal or competitive advantage.

The peer-review process is confidential, and the identities of reviewers are not disclosed to authors.
